Am I a Candidate for Micropigmentation?
The following factors are considered in determining whether you are an ideal candidate for MICROPIGMENTATION PROCEDURES:
Age (minimum of 20 years of age)
Skin condition (clients with sensitive skin, acne or rosacea are advised to consult their dermatologist or physician prior to booking an appointment). SMP clients will be advised to start a skin prepping regiment using natural healing salve starting two weeks leading up to the appointment
Medical History
Current Medications & Supplements
Existing previous tattoo treatment
You are NOT an ideal candidate for MICROPIGMENTATION if one of the following conditions apply to you:
Pregnant or Breastfeeding (must be 1 month post breast feeding to get tattooed)
Under age of 20 (your face is still changing before your 20’s)
Prone to keloids or hypertrophic scarring
Do not have great hygiene and incapable of following aftercare instructions
Currently on antibiotics (must wait at least two weeks after completing antibiotics)
Diabetic with inconsistent blood glucose levels (high risk of infection and complication)
Herpes— Clients with cold sores are advised to obtain antiviral medication. You will need it in your system for minimum of 24 hours, on the day of the procedure and two days after.
On blood pressure medication
On any medication that affects blood coagulation
Hemopheliac
Allergic to Red Lake #5 (special dye/ pigment found in red lipstick)
Had an allergic reaction to tattoos in the past
HIV Positive or been diagnosed with AIDS and/ or Hepatitis due to high risk of infection and complications from compromised immune system
Had a Botox injection in the past 2 weeks
Had a filler injection in the past 2 weeks
Undergoing cancer treatments or in remission (ideal candidates must be at least 6 months in remission)
Any condition resulting in autoimmune deficiency (high infection/ complication risk)
Had a chemical peel in the last month
Have EVER had a cold sore...even just once a long time ago (applies to lip procedure ONLY), in which case you will be required to obtain an antiviral prescription for 2 days before, the day of, and two days after the procedure or as recommended by your doctor.
If you have pre-existing cosmetic tattoos that are too dark or have turned a funky colour, you may be advised to undergo removal/ fading treatments prior to proceeding with a new cosmetic tattoo/ SMP treatment
The following medications may affect blood coagulation and you are advised to consult your family physician prior to booking your appointment:
Blood Thinners
Sleeping Pills
Diuretics
Antibiotics
Immunosuppressants
Pain Killers
Dermatological Medications (i.e.- Accutane)
Blood Pressure Medications
Tranquilizers
Hormone Replacement Therapy
Any natural/ herbal supplements that can affect blood coagulation
