BEFORE: Preparing your scalp for success
In order to prepare your scalp for success, your artist will explain the steps you need to take leading up to your appointment. This is why we offer FREE consultations so that we can properly assess your skin type and set you up on a proper skin care protocol to prepare your scalp for tattooing. Clients with sensitive or dry scalp, and pre existing skin conditions will have the option to purchase an all natural healing salve to heal & properly nourish the scalp.
AFTER: Caring for your new hairline
Now that your new hair follicles have been meticulously placed, please follow these instructions closely for optimal healed results:
Change your pillowcase or put a clean towel over your pillowcase as soon as you get home.
For the first FOUR days following the procedure, do NOT get your head wet with water or sweat. This includes anaty activities that can make you sweat (no sauna, steam, intense exercise).
Use MicroTonic to prep the area and MicroBalm to moisturize the tattooed areas. For clients with sensitive skin or fair complexion, you will be using MicroGel after MicroTonic for the first 48 hours or until the redness subsides. Always ensure your hands are clean before applying your aftercare tonics & salves.
Avoid wearing hats & helmets during the first 4 days.
Avoid sun exposure for the first 4 days
DAY 5— you may wash your head/ hair with baby shampoo and use coppertone sport sunblock to protect your tattooed areas if you will be exposing your head to the sun. You may shave your head with care to avoid the tattooed areas. Continue using MicroBalm as needed to keep the scalp moist.
DAY 7-10 following second session— you may notice some flaking from the scalp. Please wear lighter coloured shirts in order to make the flaking less noticeable, should any flakes end up on your shirt.
